Dear You...

The coach of the team retired this past week and let me tell you it was sad around the campus of Minnesota. So many young men sad to see their father figure go, so many peers wishing to have one more game, so many words left unspoken. I'm sure there is more Coach wishes he would have said and I'm sure there's more the boys wish they could have said to him.  Sometimes the time is just never right.  There shouldn't always have to be a tragic moment for a person to express themselves. Sometimes it's best to just say I love you to people for no reason at all.

To my high school sweet heart,
what's up knuckle head? lol. I love you! :) Though I'm sure this is something you know. I love the way you are so dedicated to that team and improving the lives of people around you. I'm not sure if they know it but boy are they lucky to have you.  If they only saw half the man I do, who puts in 110% day in and day out they would surely understand your passion and drive. Who knew on that day in 9th grade you'd hold the biggest piece of my heart. I am lucky to have someone in my life who always inspires me to be better. Whether that's from "positive or negative reinforcement", you are truly my better half. To infinity,

To my ex best friend,
I'm sorry. And that's genuine. I'm sorry we couldn't make it past high school and then barely past college. I'm sorry we couldn't see eye to eye on some things. But I'm not sorry for the friendship. I'm also not sorry for the loss of the friendship. In every loss there is something to be learned for both parties. There were so many lessons taught in that relationship boy oh boy how many! Thank you for being the sister I never had and exposing me to a type of family very different from mine. Thank you for the times when we did agree. I hope you are accomplishing all you strive for. I hope you got that new job you've been waiting for forever. I hope you are happy. And that's genuine.

To my parents,
God do I love you. You are the reason I am the woman I am today. Your love and security took me to heights I never dreamt I could be. Thank you for being my back bone and my official bank when I needed one. Thank you for working day in and day out so I could live the life I did.  You are truly amazing. I hope to be even half the parents you were to us to my future children. You two are some of the greatest joys of my life and no amount of words on this paper can express that.

I didn't need a reason for any of this. But sometimes it's just nice to express yourself.
